ALL Softubs have always had a 1 HP MOTOR. Advertised 1.5 HP is "Marketing ploy", reality is a 1.5 HP motor (16Amps, 17+ at start-up) would never run on 120V 15Amp circuit! This is the standard. Ask your electrician uncle.
